E&I Data Symposium

The Kauffman Symposiums on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Data are a multi-year series of workshops focused on the important and growing body of data collected on entrepreneurship and innovation.

The 2008 Kauffman Symposium theme was "Proposals to Advance Measurement of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the United States." Twenty presentations were made highlighting different proposals for advancing our understanding of entrepreneurship and/or innovation through modifications to existing data collection tools and methodologies. More than 150 experts attended and proceedings from the Data Symposium are now available.

More than 100 experts convened for the inaugural Kauffman Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Data to learn about 38 new or newly-updated data sets. Proceedings for that Symposium are now available and include data set overviews, presentations from Symposium, and audio files of a majority of presentations.

The Kauffman Symposiums on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Data are part of an ongoing discussion on improving data in entrepreneurship and innovation.  Data Maven, the Kauffman Foundation's new blog on entrepreneurship and innovation data, helps to complement the Kauffman Data Symposiums.
