Call for Applicants - KFS Contract Research Assistant

Kauffman Firm Survey
Contract Research Assistant—10-20 hours/week
Beginning January 2010 (or earlier)

The Kauffman Foundation is seeking a part-time contract research assistant (12 months) to assist with the Kauffman Firm Survey and economic research using these data. Candidates should have previous programming experience in STATA, as well as experience doing literature reviews. Candidates should have experience with excel, access, email, and internet. Previous research experience in the fields of entrepreneurship, finance, survey research, and/or economics would be helpful. The research assistant will also be responsible for building and maintaining a database of contacts from academic, business, and other areas as well as publications and working papers that use the KFS.

Preference for candidate in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Maintain Database

Maintain list of researchers, academic contacts, research institutes, think-tank contacts, nonprofit organization contacts, academic departments, and others using the KFS data/research

Outreach

Assist with communications to different constituencies
Outreach and network for new contacts
Keep academic departments and researchers up to date about RFPs, data and research releases, etc.

Data Enclave

Post conferences/meetings/news to enclave site
Communicate with enclave community members
Encourage and support the enclave community
