The Kauffman Summer Legal Institute brings together select legal and economic researchers to discuss cutting-edge research on topics related to "law, innovation, and growth." The aim of this conference is to develop a research agenda to advance the understanding of law and polices on this important topic.

We have consciously designed the conference to be highly interactive and relatively unstructured. Accordingly, most sessions will be led off by a selected discussion leader who will briefly discuss his or her work that is directly relevant to the topic and then offer views and dialogue about possible areas for future research that will advance our understanding of the linkages between law and legal institutions on the one hand, and innovation and growth, on the other.
